Sierra Gets its Bus Ticket

Sierra’s Civil Team has commenced work after winning a contract with Dublin City Council for the construction of a Quality Bus Corridor on Howth Road, at the junction with Sybil Hill and Brookwood Avenue. The team is constructing a dedicated bus lane on the inbound carriageway of Howth Road to extend from the termination of the former bus lane.

The carriageway will be extended over a length of 210m to facilitate an additional traffic lane. The bus lane, when completed, will be a shared bus lane and will provide facilities for cyclists along the inbound route.

The surface of the cycle lane, as it proceeds across the junction with Sybil Hill Road, will consist of a red thermoplastic material to aid drivers in perceiving the cycle provisions. The team of 3 x 2-man crews will be on site until March.
