Roankabin Secures Key Contracts in Medical Sector

RoanKabin continues to diversify its specialist Medical portfolio by securing contracts in St James’s Hospital and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital. The St James’s Hospital project sees an extension to the existing Central Pathology Laboratory and the construction of new administration offices. In Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, RoanKabin secured the contract to construct the new Molecular Microbiology Laboratory. Manufacture of this new 200sq metre facility started in early November with an expected completion date of February 2010.

The main function of the new laboratory will be detecting infectious diseases caused by a host of bacteria, fungi and viruses. When operational the laboratory will test more than 2000 specimens each year. This new state-of-theart facility will be equipped with the latest ventilation systems, and Class 2 Type A2 Laminar Flow Cabinets.

Previous laboratory projects successfully delivered by RoanKabin include the Central Pathology Laboratory at St James’s Hospital Dublin, and Ireland’s first Modular Category 3 Laboratory at Our Lady’s Hospital. This latest contract strengthens RoanKabin’s ongoing relationship with Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital and reaffirms the company’s reputation in this niche sector.
